Chris Barbee in North Carolina sent these real photographs of new employees in the late 1950s and 60s. They would have been cropped, reduced and used in memos sent to management. His mother, Carol Barbee, nee Grady, worked at Upjohn for many years. She was employed from 1959 until August 1975 in the Ombudsman’s Office, Employee Communications, Employee Benefits, and Training and Development. She later worked at Upjohn Healthcare Services for 16 years as an Executive Secretary in Human Resources and as a Benefits and Communications Administrator. In 1991, she joined Corporate Employee Communications as a Communications Coordinator. She retired in the late 1990s. There are no names listed on the back of these photos. Some are dated and some are not. All photos were taken by The Upjohn Company Mechanical Engineering Photo Section.
