Upjohn Wooden Boxes and Shipping Crates

Upjohn pharmaceuticals were orginally shipped in sturdy wooden boxes made from 5/8"x 8" boards with wooden corner posts. These would have made locally for the company.  This lasted until after WWII. When plywood became widely available, Upjohn shipping containers were then switched to 1/8" plywood with metal brackets holding all the wood together. Company logos were added using stencils. A few boxes survive in local collections.
