Mycitracin is a brand of
triple antibiotic ointment (bacitracin, neomycin sulfate, and
polymyxin B sulfate). It was intended to provide broad-spectrum
protection against infections in minor cuts, scrapes, and burns.
It was sold by The Upjohn Company from September 1950 to the end
of the company in 1995. In 1986, a ceramic figure called 'Ol
Doc', shown on this page, was used by Upjohn to advertise
Mycitracin.
Mycitracin was later acquired by Johnson &
Johnson, who still sell it today.
